After I already build several historic airplanes in usual construction I wanted to design a fully printed model.
I thought about something that looks similar like
...Show more a Fokker. The problem of this kind of shape is the short nose of the fuselage because it makes the plane tail heavy. That means the tail must be very light.
My idea was to cover the tail unit with a printed coat of 0.2 mm. And the rear fuselage should be an open half-timbered construction for additional saving weight.
I made this in cooperation with “Wersy” who has taken the part of the wing. He spend a lot of effort to shape the surface wave-like to give it a natural look. So it looks as if the wing is covered with fabric.
Wersy also designed the Machine Gun Spandau MG08 which you can download here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2971273
Unfortunately, on the first try the ESC failed and on the second try the weather conditions were not good. We had gusty crosswind.
And what's more, the plane was a bit tail heavy yet, and the wheels had too much toe-in.
Anyway, I hope I can make another video soon.
